Drawn by noted General Land Office surveyor and draftsman Robert Creuzbaur, this map shows land dedicated to funding the State "Blind" and "Lunatic" asylums - now known as state schools - in Shackleford, Jones, Taylor and Callahan counties. To fund the state schools, the state of Texas appropriated 400,000 acres of land to pay for building construction and maintenance. Includes extensive notes about timber, land and surveying in the bottom right corner.
