This unique map of Amarillo is part of the W.D. Twichell Survey Records donated to the Land Office in 2010. Willis Day Twichell surveyed millions of acres of public and private land in West Texas, including the Texas-New Mexico boundary and property that became the famous XIT Ranch, which eventually financed the building of the Texas Capitol.
