This beautifully-colored, hand-lettered map of McMullen County by the great draftswoman Eltea Armstrong depicts General Alonso de Leon's 1689 expedition as he traversed the north portion of McMullen County in search of La Salle's Colony. General de Leon eventually found the colony north of Lavaca Bay, ransacked and the people massacred by local Indians.
